ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the relationship between resilience, perceived social support, and adaptability in military freshmen.Methods:A total of 195 freshmen were randomly selected from a military medical university. The Chinese version of Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS), and a self-test questionnaire of college students' psychological adaptability were used to investigate their resilience, perceived social support, and adaptability. SPSS 26.0 was used to perform an independent samples t-test and a Pearson correlation analysis to analyze the differences in these scores between freshmen with different demographic characteristics and the correlation between these scores. By using the PROCESS plug-in, a structural equation model was used to analyze the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between social support and psychological adaptation, which was further tested using the Bootstrap method. Results:The independent samples t-test showed that females had a significantly higher score of other support than males ( t = -2.05, P = 0.041), and student leaders had significantly higher scores of family support and other support, total score of social support, and score in psychological adaptability than other students (all P<0.05). The correlation analysis showed that there were significant positive correlations between the scores of PSSS and its each item, CD-RISC, and self-test of college students' psychological adaptability (all P<0.05). The structural equation model showed that resilience partially mediated the relationship between social support and psychological adaptation, and the Bootstrap method revealed a significant indirect effect (95%CI: 0.102-0.253). Conclusion:Resilience plays a partial mediating role between perceived social support and adaptability in military freshmen. They should be guided to correctly perceive external support and develop strong resilience.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo examine the current status of preschoolers' eating behaviors and investigate its correlation with family cohesion and adaptability. MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted involving 21,954 preschoolers and their families from Pingshan District, Shenzhen, between September 2021 and December 2021. A general demographic questionnaire, the Chinese version of Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale Ⅱ (FACESⅡ-CV) and Chinese Preschoolers’ Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CPEBQ) were used to collect the relevant information. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the association of family cohesion and adaptability with eating behaviors of preschoolers. ResultsTypes of family cohesion and adaptability were significantly correlated with all the 7 dimensions of preschoolers' eating behaviors, including food fussiness (R2=0.252, F=114.457, P<0.001), food responsiveness (R2 = 0.111, F =24.973, P<0.001), eating habit (R2= 0.304, F =139.658, P<0.001), satiety responsiveness (R2 = 0.259, F =105.332, P<0.001), external eating (R2 = 0.182, F =50.150, P<0.001), emotional eating (R2 = 0.234, F =91.084, P<0.001) and initiative eating (R2 = 0.349, F =168.608, P<0.001). After adjusting for confounding factors, our study showed that types of family cohesion and adaptability were independent predictors of preschoolers' eating behaviors (P<0.05). ConclusionsTypes of family cohesion and adaptability have a significant predictive effect on the 7 dimensions of preschoolers' eating behaviors. Higher scores of family cohesion and adaptability imply stronger initiative eating ability and less poor dietary behaviors in preschoolers.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the correlation between nurses′ workplace adaptability, moral dilemma and resilience after suffering workplace violence in emergency department, in order to provide reference about improving the workplace adaptability and formulating intervention.Methods:A cross-section survey was conducted, we selected 248 nurses who had suffered workplace violence in the emergency department of five tertiary hospitals in Qingdao from January 2022 to January 2023 by convenient sampling method, and used self-designed general information questionnaire, moral dilemma scale, resilience evaluation scale for medical staff and nurses′ workplace adaptability scale to conduct a questionnaire survey on nurses who had suffered workplace violence, and found out the factors affecting their workplace adaptability.Results:The score of workplace adaptability of 248 nurses who had suffered workplace violence was (39.37 ± 12.77) points. Univariate analysis showed that education, length of emergency service, department or social part-time job, professional title, number of night shifts and sleep condition were the influencing factors of workplace fitness for emergency nurses ( t/ F values were -12.72 to 132.15, all P<0.05). The correlation analysis showed that the nurses′ workplace adaptability after workplace violence was negatively correlated with the scores and total scores of all dimensions of moral dilemma ( r values were -0.725 to -0.194, P<0.05), and positively correlated with the scores and total scores of all dimensions of resilience ( r values were 0.135 to 0.732, P<0.05). Multi-factor results showed that education background, department/social part-time job, working years, professional title, sleep status, moral dilemma and resilience were the influencing factors of nurses′ workplace adaptability after workplace violence ( t values were -9.25 to 15.25, P<0.05). Conclusions:Nurses with specialized education, emergency service for 1-3 years, no department/social part-time job, primary professional title, sleep disorder, higher degree of moral dilemma and low level of resilience have low occupational adaptability. Nursing managers should focus on such nurses and improve their occupational adaptability.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the mediating role of psychological resilience in the relationship between family intimacy and adaptability and experiential avoidance among undergraduate nursing students (hereafter referred as nursing undergraduates). Methods: A total of 725 nursing undergraduates from six colleges in Guangdong Province were selected as the research subjects using convenience sampling method. The Acceptance Action Questionnaire-2nd Edition, Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale and Family Intimacy and Adaptability Scale were used to evaluate the experiential avoidance, psychological resilience, and family intimacy and adaptability, respectively. Results: The mean scores of experiential avoidance, psychological resilience and family intimacy and adaptability among nursing undergraduates were (23.4±7.7), (58.8±8.9) and (99.7±20.3), respectively. The results of the mediation analysis indicated that the total effect of family intimacy and adaptability on experiential avoidance was -0.16 (P<0.01), with a direct effect of -0.05 (P>0.05). Psychological resilience played a significant mediating role in the relationship between family intimacy and adaptability and experiential avoidance among nursing undergraduates (P<0.01). The standardized mediation effect was -0.11, accounting for 68.8% of the total effect. Conclusion: Resilience plays a mediating role between family intimacy and adaptability and experiential avoidance among nursing undergraduates.

@#Abstract:Objective To investigate the adaptability and genetic stability of hepatitis A virus(HAV)SYX1 strain in human diploid cell MRC⁃5. Methods HAV SYX1 strain isolated from feces of patients with hepatitis A was continuously propagated in MRC⁃5 cells for 28 passages,of which the 1st ~ 26th passages were determined for antigen contents and virus titers,the 6th passage was observed for the morphology under microscope and detected for physicochemical properties,and the 13th ~ 15th passages were studied for virus proliferation dynamics to determine the peak yield of virus proliferation. Genomic RNA was extracted from the 8th,12th,18th,20th,22nd,25th,26th and 28th passages and sequenced to analyze the genetic stability. The main seed batch and working seed batch of HAV SYX1 strain were established and verified according to the requirements of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(VolumeⅢ,2020 edition). Results The antigen content of HAV SYX1 was stable at 160 ~ 320 EU/mL and the titer was maintained at 7. 3 ~ 8. 3 lgCCID50/mL after the 8th passages in MRC 5 cells;Virus particles showed two types:hollow and solid,with a diameter of 27 ~ 32 nm,spherical,without envelope and protrusions on the surface,which tolerated low pH value and ether. The peak period of virus proliferation was 10 d with an antigen content of more than 160 EU/mL and a virus titer of more than 7. 0 lgCCID50/mL. HAV SYX1 was a subtype of HAV IB,and no mutation in the coding region of all structural proteins during passage was observed. The verification results of main seed batch and working seed batch of HAV all met the relevant requirements. Conclusion HAV SYX1 strain showed good adapt⁃ ability and genetic stability in MRC⁃5,which might be used for the development and production of inactivated hepatitis A vaccine.

@#Objective To investigate the effects of overexpression of OXA-48 on drug resistance,adaptability of bacterial strain and Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling pathway of host cells. Methods The recombinant plasmid pET32a(+)-OXA-48was transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3),and the recombinant strain pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3)was identified by colony PCR and sequencing. Taking A_(600)(0. 3,0. 5 and 0. 7),IPTG final concentration(0. 4,0. 6 and 0. 8mmol/L)and induction time(2,4 and 6 h)as variables and mRNA transcription level as response value,an orthogonal experiment with three factors and three levels was designed to optimize the induced expression conditions of the plasmid. The drug resistance of recombinant strain pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3)to Imipenem(IPM),Meropenem(MEM),Ceftriaxone(CRO)and Cefepime(FEP)was detected by disk diffusion method;The adaptability was detected by biofilm formation test and serum resistance test. Mouse alveolar macrophages(MH-S)were infected with pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3),pET32a(+)-BL21(DE3)and E.coli BL21(DE3)strains,respectively. The mRNA transcription levels of TLR2,TLR4 and NF-кB(p65)genes were detected by qRT-PCR method,and the expressions of Interleukin-6(IL-6),IL-10,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)were detected by ELISA. Results The recombinant strain pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3)was constructed correctly as identified by colony PCR and sequencing. The optimum induction conditions were as follows:A_(600)of 0. 3,IPTG final concentration of 0. 6 mmol/L and induction time of 2 h. Compared with pET32a(+)-BL21(DE3)strain,the resistance of recombinant strain pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3)to IPM,MEM,CRO and FEP significantly decreased(t = 7. 14~22. 32,P < 0. 05),the biofilm formed significantly increased(t = 15. 69,P < 0. 05),and the survival rate in serum significantly increased(t = 10. 60,P < 0. 05);The mRNA transcription level of TLR2 gene in MH-S cells infected with pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3)significantly increased 24 h after infection(t = 5. 77,P < 0. 05),while the mRNA transcription level of TLR4 and NF-кB(p65)genes(t = 3. 71~10. 06,P < 0. 05)and the expression level of IL-6 significantly increased 12 and 24 h after infection. Compared with the normal group,the expression of IL-6and TNF-α in MH-S cells infected with pET32a(+)-OXA-48-BL21(DE3)increased significantly at 6,12 and 24 h after infection(t = 7. 90 ~ 13. 44 and 5. 40~6. 32 respectively,each P < 0. 01),while the expression of IL-10 decreased significantly(t = 3. 15~4. 08,each P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference in the expression of TGF-β(t = 0. 013~1. 41,each P > 0. 05). The expression of IL-6 was significantly higher than that in pET32a(+)-BL21(DE3)group at 12 and 24 h after infection(t = 2. 92 and 3. 79 respectively,each P < 0.05) Conclusion Overexpression of OXA-48 can reduce bacterial drug resistance,improve bacterial adaptability and the transcription level of factors related to TLR signaling pathway in host cells,and affect the expression level of downstream cytokines in host cells.

ABSTRACT

Introduction-This research aimed to study the effect of Thriving and Workplace Spirituality on Innovative Work Behavior and Career Adaptability among railway employees (TC) because of the competitive environment they experience. Method- The participants were 105 railway employees between the age of 40-60 years, residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The purposive and snowball sampling methods were used for the study. The scales used were - Thriving at work scale (Porath et al,2012), Spirit at work scale (SAW) (Kinjersky, 2013), Innovative work behavior ( Jesson, 2009), Career Adapt Abilities Scale – short form (CAAS- SF) (Maggiori et al, 2012). The data were analyzed using 4 independent ‘t tests’. Results-Thriving had a significant effect on Innovative Work Behavior and Career Adaptability among railway employees. Thus Thriving might act as an advantage in the competitive work environment of TCs. Since Thriving cannot be developed individually as a skill, there is a need to study Workplace Spirituality. Results obtained suggest that there was no significant effect of Workplace Spirituality on Innovative Work Behavior which can be attributed to the Covid-19 situation. Later analysis shows that Workplace Spirituality has a significant effect on Career Adaptability, suggesting that the Workplace Spirituality plays will help in better career adaptability among railway employees. Conclusion- Thriving is considered to be a human aspect of sustainability which is important to produce high performance. Thus if we can enhance Workplace Spirituality for railway employees, they might experience Thriving which will eventually contribute to enhancing IWB and Career Adaptability.

ABSTRACT

Abstract In the present perspective, some parallels are drawn between a career as a scientist in Brazil and the ability of microorganisms to form a biofilm. Do these connections really exist? Definitely the answer is YES. Over billions of years, microbial biofilms have evolved in order to form a cohesive, well-structured, organized and dynamic community, which is characterized by its resistant/resilient profile to several environmental stressors. Adapting to constant change is a necessary attribute for survival and perpetuation of all live organisms, which are key signatures present in the hereditary molecule. Brazilian scientists are faced with many stressful situations along their journey in academia, which requires constant adaptability, reorganization and, above all, resilience. Can we take some lessons from what we know about the biofilm lifestyle developed by microorganisms? The answer is yes!


Resumo Na perspectiva atual, alguns paralelos são traçados entre a carreira de cientista no Brasil e a capacidade dos microrganismos de formarem biofilme. Essas conexões realmente existem? Definitivamente a resposta é SIM. Ao longo de bilhões de anos, os biofilmes microbianos evoluíram para formar uma comunidade coesa, bem estruturada, organizada e dinâmica, que se caracteriza por seu perfil de resistência/resiliência a diversos estressores ambientais. Adaptar-se a mudanças constantes é um atributo necessário para a sobrevivência e perpetuação de todos os organismos vivos, que são assinaturas-chave presentes na molécula de hereditariedade. Nesse sentido, os cientistas brasileiros se deparam com diversas situações estressantes ao longo de suas trajetórias na academia, exigindo constante adaptabilidade, reorganização e, acima de tudo, resiliência. Podemos tirar algumas lições do que sabemos sobre o estilo de vida do biofilme desenvolvido por microrganismos? A resposta é sim!

ABSTRACT

Family therapy has been introduced to China for more than 30 years.The research of domestic family therapy mainly focuses on two aspects: the promotion of methods and theories, and the study on the application of Chinese culture.This research reviewed the present research status for family therapy in application effectiveness and acculturation in China, pointed out the deficiencies of the current national family therapy in depth, methods and technologies, object of research and research methods, and offered several advices. At the same time, it offered advices on the acculturation of family therapy in China's clinic and proposed that the implementation of family therapy under the background of Chinese culture should enhance the "understanding" on China’s family history and culture, and firmly carry out the clinical research on individual case.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effects of rs6354 polymorphism of 5-HTT gene and family factors on the adaptability of Mongolian school-age children.Methods:The adaptability of 453 primary school students was assessed based on the middle childhood temperament questionnaire(MCTQ). The polymorphism of 5-HTT gene rs6354 was determined by improved multiple ligase detection reaction(iMLDR) technology. SPSS18.0 statistical software was used for data processing and analysis.Results:(1) The adaptability scores of children with GG/GT and TT genotype at rs6354 locus of 5-HTT gene were(2.88±0.73) and(3.03±0.76). (2) Univariate analysis showed that the adaptability scores of Mongolian school-age children were significantly different among different education levels of their parents (father F=2.580, P=0.037; mother F=3.245, P=0.012). (3) Multiple regression analysis showed that mother's educational level( B=-0.079, P=0.010) and rs6354 polymorphism( B=0.165, P=0.041) were inflencing factors of the adaptability score of Mongolian school-age children. (4) Logistic regression analysis showed that father's education level was a significant impact factor of the adaptive level of Mongolian school-age children( B=0.453, P<0.05, OR=1.573, 95% CI=1.023-2.417). Conclusion:rs6354 polymorphism is weakly correlated with children's adaptability, and the education level of parents, especially fathers, may be an important factor affecting the adaptability of Mongolian school-age children.

Objective:To investigate the status of transition shock, career adaptation and professional identity among nursing interns, and to explore the mediating effect of professional identity on career adaptation and transition shock.Methods:In February 2022, 500 nursing students from 18 nursing colleges in Henan province and Shaanxi province were selected as the research subjects by convenient sampling method. General data questionnaire, Professional Identity Questionnaire of Nursing Students, Career Adaptability Scale of college students and Chinese version of Transition Impact Assessment Scale of Nursing Undergraduate Interns were used to conduct the questionnaire survey.Results:The career adaptability score of nursing intern was (133.59 ± 22.58); professional identity score was (63.35 ± 14.06); transition impact score was (45.18 ± 10.17). Transition shock was negatively correlated with career adaptation and professional identity ( r=-0.328, -0.484, both P<0.01). Occupational identity had a partial mediating effect on career adaptation and transition shock, accounting for 64.29% of the total effect. Conclusions:The transition shock of nursing interns is at medium level. Nursing educators can reduce the degree of transition shock by improving their professional identity to nursing and their own career adaptation, so as to better adapt to the professional role.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the role of SDH2 gene in the environmental adaptability of Candida albicans. Methods Wild-type C. albicans strain SC5314, SDH2 gene knockout mutant sdh2Δ/Δ and reintegrated strain sdh2Δ/SDH2 were used as experimental objects. Spot assay was conducted to assess the sensitivity of the WT C. albicans strain SC5314, SDH2 gene knockout mutant sdh2Δ/Δ and reintegrated strain sdh2Δ/SDH2 to external stress stimulants and antifungal drugs. The effect of SDH2 gene deletion on drug efflux ability of C. albicans was determined by rhodamine 6G efflux assay. Results After SDH2 gene deletion, C. albicans showed slight tolerance to cell wall stress stimulants caffeine, oxidative stress stimulators diamide and menadione. Notably, the sensitivity of SDH2 gene knockout mutant sdh2Δ/Δ to azole antifungal drugs was significantly increased. The drug efflux capacity of C. albicans was decreased due to the deletion of SDH2 gene. Conclusion SDH2 gene deletion lead to changes in environmental adaptability of C. albicans, including changes in response to external environmental stress and increased sensitivity to azole antifungal drugs. The development of fungal-specific inhibitor targeting SDH2 gene may lead to the discovery of new antifungal drugs which have synergistic effect with azole drugs.

ABSTRACT

Los desastres naturales, aparte de las pérdidas económicas que generan, también pueden afectar el funcionamiento familiar y la satisfacción con la vida debido a los eventos adversos que se experimentan. Por ello, el principal objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación que existe entre la funcionalidad familiar y la satisfacción con la vida en la comunidad de San Antonio del Pedregal - Sector 1 en Lurigancho-Chosica, Perú; una de las zonas más afectadas por la presencia de huaicos (grandes aluviones frecuentes en las alturas andinas) desde la década de 1980 y que recientemente ha experimentado los efectos adversos del fenómeno del Niño de 2017. La investigación se desarrolló bajo el enfoque cuantitativo, con alcance correlacional y diseño no experimental de corte transversal; además, la muestra de estudio estuvo conformada por 180 personas. Los resultados indican que, a pesar de los eventos vividos, las personas muestran un moderado funcionamiento familiar y se encuentran satisfechas con sus vidas. Las mujeres presentaron mayor puntaje en ambas variables en comparación con los varones, los mayores de 60 años reportaron mayor funcionalidad familiar y los menores de 30 años mostraron mejores resultados en la satisfacción con la vida.(AU)


Natural disasters, apart from economic losses, can also affect family functioning and life satisfaction due to the adverse events that are experienced. Therefore, the main purpose of the research was to know the relation between the family functionality and satisfaction with life in the community of San Antonio del Pedregal - Sector 1 in Lurigancho-Chosica, Peru; one of the geographical areas most affected by the presence of huaicos (frequent large floods in the Andean highlands) since the 1980s and that has recently experienced the adverse effects of the El Niño phenomenon of 2017. The research was correlational and transversal; furthermore, the study sample consisted of 180 local people. The results indicate that, despite the events experienced, people show moderate family functioning and are satisfied with their life. Women had a higher score in both variables compared to men, those over 60 years of age reported greater family functionality, and those under 30 years of age showed better results in life satisfaction.(AU)

Portanto, o objetivo principal da investigação foi conhecer a relação entre a funcionalidade da família e a satisfação com a vida na comunidade de San Antonio del Pedregal - Setor 1 em Lurigancho-Chosica, Peru; uma das áreas geográficas mais afetadas pela presença de huaicos (grandes inundações frequentes no planalto andino) desde a década de 1980 e que recentemente experimentou os efeitos adversos do fenômeno El Niño de 2017. A investigação foi correlacional e transversal; além disso, a amostra do estudo foi composta por 180 pessoas locais. Os resultados indicam que, apesar dos eventos vivenciados, as pessoas apresentam funcionamento familiar moderado e estão satisfeitas com a vida. As mulheres obtiveram pontuação mais elevada em ambas as variáveis em relação aos homens, as maiores de 60 anos relataram maior funcionalidade familiar e as menores de 30 anos apresentaram melhores resultados na satisfação com a vida.(AU)

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to test the mediating role that Perception of Professional Development has in the relationship between Career Adaptability and Perception of/Expectation of Employability among undergraduate students. A total of 1.105 students (57% of women) participated in the investigation, all from different undergraduate courses and institutions. The instruments used had evidence of validity, and data were analyzed through structural equation modeling. The results supported the research hypothesis and corroborate previous empirical studies. The model showed good fit for the data as to the hypothesized model (X2/df=0.65; CFI=0.94; TLI=0.94; RMSEA=0.05; indirect effect=0.31). The confirmation of the mediating relationship contributes to the understanding of the processes related to Perception of/Expectation of Employability among undergraduate students. Impacts on the career planning of undergraduate students and subsidies for Higher Education management are some of the practical implications of this study. (AU)


O objetivo deste estudo foi testar o papel mediador da Percepção de Desenvolvimento Profissional na relação entre Adaptabilidade de Carreira e Percepção/Expectativa de Empregabilidade dos universitários. Participaram da investigação 1.105 estudantes (57% mulheres), oriundos de diferentes cursos de graduação e instituições. Os instrumentos adotados contavam com evidências de validade e na análise de dados utilizamos a modelagem por equações estruturais. Os resultados deram suporte à hipótese de pesquisa e corroboram estudos empíricos anteriores. A confirmação da relação mediadora contribui para o entendimento dos processos relativos à Percepção/Expectativa de Empregabilidade entre universitários. El objetivo de este estudio fue probar el papel mediador de la percepción del desarrollo profesional en la relación entre la adaptabilidad a la carrera y la percepción/expectativa de empleabilidad de los estudiantes universitarios. El estudio incluyó 1.105 estudiantes (57% mujeres), provenientes de diferentes campos e instituciones. Los instrumentos adoptados tenían evidencias de validez y en el análisis de datos utilizamos el modelado de ecuaciones estructurales. Los resultados apoyaron la hipótesis de investigación y corroboran estudios empíricos previos. El modelo indicó un buen ajuste de los datos al modelo hipotético (X2/gl=0,65; CFI=0,94; TLI=0,94; RMSEA=0,05; efecto indirecto=0,31). La confirmación de la relación mediadora contribuye a la comprensión de los procesos relacionados con la Percepción/Expectativa de Empleabilidad entre los estudiantes universitarios. Los impactos para la planificación de la carrera de los estudiantes universitarios y las subvenciones para la gestión de la Educación Superior son algunas de las implicaciones prácticas del estudio. ABSTRACT

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo encontrar evidências de validade para a escala de forças de caráter (EFC), correlacionando-a com a escala de adaptabilidade de carreira (EAC) baseada na relação com variáveis externas, ou seja, entre os escores dos instrumentos a serem utilizados, e outras variáveis como idade, sexo e situação laboral. Participaram por meio de pesquisa on-line 364 respondentes com idade entre 18 e 77 anos. Uma importante contribuição desta pesquisa foi o que se constatou quanto à situação laboral, sugerindo que a capacidade de inovar e estar aberto a novas experiências são fundamentais para aqueles que desejam se manter empregados. Os resultados também inferem que as pessoas mais jovens costumam pensar mais sobre seu futuro profissional do que as pessoas mais velhas, porém, a maturidade associada a um maior nível de conhecimento (escolaridade) promove uma maior pontuação entre as forças de caráter.


This research aimed to find evidence of validity for the character strengths scale (CSS), correlating it with the career adapt-abilities scale (CAAS) based on the relationship with external variables, that is, between the scores of the instruments to be used, and other variables such as age, sex and employment situation. A total of 364 respondents aged between 18 and 77 years old participated in an online survey. An important contribution of this research was regarding the employment situation, suggesting that the ability to innovate and be open to new experiences are fundamental for those who wish to remain employed. The results also infer that younger people tend to think more about their professional future than older people; however, the maturity associated with a higher level of knowledge (education) promotes a higher score among the strength of character.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the effects of carbohydrate-electrolyte beverage on post-exercise rehydration of healthy young men in different seasons,and to explore the influence of seasonal adaptability on fluid and electrolyte balance.Methods Fifteen healthy men,aged(24.4±0.5)years,completed 2 trails in a random crossover design both in summer and winter.During recovery,they consumed a drink volume equivalent to 100% of their sweat loss with plain boiled water(the water group)or carbohydrate-electrolyte beverage(the beverage group).Recovery was monitored for further 180 minutes by the collection of blood and urine samples.Results The dehydration time in summer was significantly shorter by about 20 minutes than that in winter(

ABSTRACT

Gait adaptability refers to adjustments of gait to accomplish walking and to overcome environmental difficulties. According to the training environment, gait adaptability training in stroke rehabilitation can be divided into two categories: real environment and simulated environment. The simulated environment is divided into simple indoor and multimoding environment. Some technologies, such as virtual reality and augmented reality may provide safer and more efficient methods for gait adaptability training. Gait adaptability training can improve walking function and confidence of hemiplegic patients, and help them to return to community life and social participation.

Abstract The program Eu Pertenço ao Meu Futuro! (I Belong to My Future!) has evidence of effectiveness in the career adaptability of 9th-year Portuguese students. This study evaluates its effectiveness in two consecutive school years, 2015/16 and 2016/17 - a period with a series of government changes that impacted school educational projects. This study was conducted with 2,376 students (1201 (50.5%) boys; age M = 14.53 years; SD = .836), 1138 of whom were randomized into the experimental group and 816 in the control group. Data were collected by means of the Adaptability Scale, administered in a pre- and posttest with a seven-weeks interval, and treated using the MANOVA. The intervention achieved the expected results regarding confidence and control in 2016/17. The program had different effects in the two school years, reaching more favorable outcomes in the second year, which may be explained by contextual factors and the intervention process.


Resumo O programa Eu Pertenço ao Meu Futuro! tem evidências de eficácia na adaptabilidade de carreira de alunos/as portugueses do 9.º ano escolar. Contudo, variações desta eficácia, nunca foram analisadas. Este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a eficácia daquele em dois anos letivos consecutivos, 2015/16 e 2016/17, período de mudanças governamentais, com impacto nos projetos educativos das escolas. Participaram 2376 alunos/as [1201 (50.5%) rapazes; idade M = 14.53 anos; DP = .836], 1138 do grupo experimental e 816 do grupo de controlo. Respostas à Escala sobre Adaptabilidade, num pré e pós-teste, intervalados sete semanas, foram tratadas por meio da MANOVA. Os resultados indicam que a intervenção atingiu resultados esperados, na confiança e no controlo, em 2016/17. O programa teve efeitos distintos nos dois anos letivos, mais favoráveis no segundo ano. Torna-se necessário considerar os fatores contextuais e do processo da intervenção que possam explicar tais efeitos.


Resumen El programa Eu Pertenço ao Meu Futuro! ("¡Pertenezco a mi futuro!") tiene evidencia de eficacia en la adaptación de los/las estudiantes portugueses/as del 9.º año. Pero todavía no se han estudiado las variaciones de esta eficacia. Este estudio pretende evaluar la eficacia de esta adaptación en dos años escolares consecutivos, 2015/16 y 2016/17, un período de cambios de gobierno con impactos en los proyectos educativos escolares. Participaron 2.376 estudiantes [1.201 (50,5%) niños; edad M = 14,53 años; DE = .836], 1.138 del grupo experimental y 816 del grupo control. Las respuestas a la Escala de Adaptabilidad, en un pre-test y post-test, con un intervalo de siete semanas, se trataron con MANOVA. Los resultados indican que la intervención logró los resultados esperados en confianza y control en el 2016/17. El programa tuvo diferentes efectos en los años escolares, más favorables en el segundo año. Es necesario considerar los factores contextuales y el proceso de intervención que pueden explicar tales efectos.

Chinese National Standards GBZ 98-2020 Health Requirements and Surveillance Specifications for Radiation Worker was published and will replace the current standards GBZ 98-2017 Health Requirements for Radiation Workers and GBZ 235-2011 Specifications for Occupational Health Surveillance for Radiation Workers from May 1 in 2021. The significance of this new National Standards, the background, basic principles, basis of revision of important indicators and the matters needing attention in the application of the standard are described in detail, especially for the medical institutions carrying out occupational health examination requirements, the determination of occupational health examination items, examination method and examination reports, so as to avoid the possible misunderstandings and doubts in using the standards.

Employability and career adaptability are two related constructs that are considered significant factors in career success. Career adaptability is the readiness to cope with current and anticipated career-related tasks, transitions, and changes, whereas employability is the ability to retain or obtain a job in the labor market. This paper presents a Spanish translation of the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) and analyses the relative importance of career adaptability and employability in predicting career success (job performance and job satisfaction) in a sample of 160 young Mexican working adults. Our results supported the internal consistency and factor structure of CAAS. Relative weights and commonality analysis indicated that both constructs shared explained outcome variance, but they had different importance in predicting career outcomes. Thus, employability is still relevant despite the rising importance of career adaptability. Career adaptability should be included in employability programs, refining the two concepts into a more parsimonious measure.


Empregabilidade e adaptabilidade na carreira são dois construtos relacionados que são considerados fatores significativos para o sucesso na carreira. Adaptabilidade de carreira é a disposição para lidar com tarefas, transições e mudanças atuais e previstas relacionadas à carreira, enquanto empregabilidade é a capacidade de manter ou obter um emprego no mercado de trabalho. Este artigo apresenta uma tradução para o espanhol da Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) e analisa a importância relativa da adaptabilidade e empregabilidade na carreira de predizer o sucesso na carreira (desempenho e satisfação no trabalho) em uma amostra de 160 jovens trabalhadores adultos mexicanos. Nossos resultados apoiaram a consistência interna e a estrutura fatorial do CAAS. Pesos relativos e análise de semelhança indicaram que ambos os construtos compartilhavam a variância explicada dos resultados, mas tinham importância diferente na previsão dos resultados da carreira. Assim, a empregabilidade ainda é relevante, apesar da importância crescente da adaptabilidade à carreira. A adaptabilidade de carreira deve ser incluída nos programas de empregabilidade, refinando os dois conceitos em uma medida mais parcimoniosa.


La empleabilidad y la adaptabilidad de carrera son dos constructos relacionados que se consideran factores importantes para el éxito profesional. La adaptabilidad de carrera es la disposición para hacer frente a las tareas, las transiciones y los cambios actuales y previstos relacionados con la carrera, mientras que la empleabilidad es la capacidad de conservar u obtener un empleo en el mercado laboral. Este artículo presenta una traducción al español de la Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) y analiza la importancia relativa de la adaptabilidad de carrera y la empleabilidad para predecir el éxito profesional (desempeño y satisfacción laboral) en una muestra de 160 jóvenes adultos trabajadores mexicanos. Nuestros resultados respaldaron la consistencia interna y la estructura factorial de CAAS. Las ponderaciones relativas y el análisis de similitudes indicaron que ambos constructos compartían la varianza explicada de los resultados, pero tenían una importancia diferente en la predicción de los resultados profesionales. Por tanto, la empleabilidad sigue siendo relevante a pesar de la creciente importancia de la adaptabilidad de carrera. La adaptabilidad profesional debe incluirse en los programas de empleabilidad, refinando los dos conceptos en una medida más parsimoniosa.
